Sensbiotek | Biotech and diagnostics in 3D
3D film for Sensbiotek, an innovative biotech startup in the field of biosensors and precision diagnostics. Scientific visualisation and molecular animation.
SenseBioTek is a Franco-Moroccan biotech startup specialising in AI-augmented electronic noses. Their technology — the patented SkinVOCs device — analyses volatile organic compounds (VOCs) emitted by the human body to detect diseases before clinical symptoms appear. Early, non-invasive diagnosis, through scent.
The brief: a 3D film that visualises the invisible — the nanosensors analysing volatile molecules and the AI decoding olfactory signatures. The film had to attract investors, convince clinical partners and explain SkinVOCs technology without trivialising it.

The Nexia team developed a scientific 3D universe where nanosensors, volatile molecules and the SkinVOCs device are represented with visual realism that respects the science whilst elevating the aesthetics. VOCs are visualised as coloured particles captured by the electronic nose — each detection is a visual event.
The film moves from macro to nano in a continuous camera movement: from patient to SkinVOCs device, from device to nanosensor surface, from sensors to the AI algorithm decoding the olfactory signature. This progressive zoom creates unprecedented scientific immersion.
The biotech palette — luminous turquoise, molecular violet, dark background — evokes both scientific precision and innovation. Data visualisation elements punctuate the 3D sequences: detection curves, sensitivity thresholds, response times.

A film that supported Sensbiotek through fundraising rounds and presentations to clinical partners. The 3D visualisation makes the technology immediately comprehensible, even for non-scientific audiences.
The film became a central communication tool for Sensbiotek: investor presentations, biotech exhibitions, website. The visual quality positions the startup at the level of major laboratory communications — a real competitive advantage for a young company.
How this kind of project is run.
Every project led by Nexia Studio follows the same production method, adapted to the deliverable at hand. We start with a rigorous brief phase, generally structured by ZIA, our AI creative project lead who formalises expectations, constraints, budget and timeline. This step determines the success of the entire project.
Then comes exploration : this is where generative AI shows its real value. Our art directors use Midjourney, Flux, Seedance, Kling and Runway to produce dozens of visual tracks in a few hours, where a traditional process would be limited to three or four explored directions. The exploration volume helps eliminate false good ideas quickly and concentrate creative energy on directions worth pursuing.
The human art direction phase then takes over. Selection, refinement, arbitration, typography, composition : this is where taste makes the difference. AI explores, the art director decides. Without this human step, the result would be indistinguishable from any other AI agency.
Finally, production : development, animation, compositing, post-production, asset preparation. This is the longest, most technical phase. Depending on the project nature, it can mobilise the Web, Motion or Graphic discipline, sometimes all three. The most frequently mobilised services include art direction, AI production, brand film, visual identity, WebGL 3D and virtual humans.
Nexia Studio is a distributed team based in Paris, Nice, Aix-en-Provence and Sophia Antipolis. This setup lets us assemble the right talent for each project without heavy structure. To start a similar project, contact the studio or kick off a brief with ZIA. Human response guaranteed within 24 working hours.
